Areas of expertise

European Union

As a former trainee at the Greek Translation Unit of the European Parliament in Luxembourg and a successful candidate of the EPSO/CAST/P/22/2019 translators competition, I have been translating, proofreading and post-editing EU texts as a freelancer since 2017. I collaborate with translation agencies that have won contracts with EU institutions and international organisations.

Legal documents

Having managed more than 500 legal projects, I have hands-on experience in translating, proofreading, and post-editing corporate documentation such as terms and conditions, data privacy policies, contracts and agreements. I've successfully completed numerous legal courses, such as the 3-month courses on international law and on international human rights law offered by the University of Louvain.

International development

Nothing satisfies me more than working on meaningful projects that can improve the lives of people in need. My main areas of interest in the international cooperation and development sector lie in human rights and the United Nations' sustainable development goals. If you’re an NGO or international organisation looking to get your message across in accurate French or Greek, I can help.

Frequently asked questions

Turnaround times depend on the size, complexity, file format of the text (Word, pdf, scanned copy, etc.), and my availability. A professional translator can typically translate 2,500 to 3,000 words a day. As an example, a 5,000-word contract will take between 2-3 business days.

Pricing depends on the size, complexity, and file format of the text, as well as the desired delivery date. Translation cost is typically measured on a per word basis. For more pricing information, just send me the document, and I will get back to you with a free, no-obligation quote for the full project. Weekend work, overnight work, and urgent requests may be subject to a surcharge.

No, I’m not an interpreter. Although many people use the terms interchangeably, translation and interpretation are two entirely different jobs requiring different skill sets and qualifications. Simply put, interpreters translate spoken language orally, while translators translate the written word.

No, I don’t translate into English or Spanish. To provide you with the highest quality possible, I only translate into my mother tongues: French and Greek. But don’t worry, I would be happy to recommend trusted colleagues who translate into English or Spanish (i.e. from French or Greek, if applicable).

Yes, MTPE is indeed one of the main services I offer. In spite of my initial reluctance a few years ago, the rapidly evolving world of AI and large language models has created lasting change in numerous industries and professions. Translation and language service providers are no exception.

Yes, I regularly use SDL Trados Studio 2019, Wordfast, and occasionally other CAT tools depending on my clients’ needs. If you want me to use your translation memories, glossaries and style guides, just let me know! Of course, these will be kept confidential at all times.

Hiring a professional saves you time and money. Using AI and MT while skipping the expert human touch can make an outstanding service or product look mediocre, damage your brand image and reputation, make you lose business, and so on. Likewise, although it might be tempting to hire an amateur translator at a rock-bottom rate, you’ll probably end up spending a lot more money to
clean up the mess. Translation mistakes can even cost lives, especially in the international development, medical, and legal sectors. A long-term, ambitious and well-thought-out business strategy goes hand in hand with professional translation, i.e. thoroughly researched, well-written, and culturally-relevant texts. Payments can be made via wire transfer or PayPal. For payments from the European Union, I prefer SEPA wire transfer. All invoices should be paid no later than 30 days after the invoice date, unless other arrangements have been made beforehand. Accepted currencies are EUR, GBP and USD.
